Saturday June 19th we are having a preparedness class at the church at 10 am. The brethren are welcome to join us....we would love to have them there. We will be talking about food storage and canning, 72 hour kits, and giving tips on how to use your wheat storage. We will have handouts and recipes for you to take home. We encourage you to be prepared for the unexpected and when we get together to discuss these topics, everyone benefits from each other. Come with your questions and your ideas to share. For those of you who ordered a basic 72 hour kit, we will have them ready for you. If you did not purchase one, and want to make your own, we will have a list of things you can put in one. Flirty Aprons at 6:30!

Thursday, March 25th, Ann Haymond is going to show us how to make flirty aprons. You will need 28 inches of one color for the body of the apron and 2 yards of a contrasting color for the ruffles. This amount will make 2 aprons. You could share material with a friend or use on for a gift (Mother's Day is coming up!) If you would like to make a children's apron you will need 16 inches of fabric for the body and 1 yard for the ruffles. For a boy's apron you will not need the ruffles, just a little fabric to make a pocket for tools, etc. If you have a sewing machine, please bring it. We will be meeting in the Relief Society Room.

Ann has offered to help you "ruffle" your fabric in advance, which will save you a lot of time and effort. If you would like her to do this for you, please take it to her ASAP so she will have time to do it. Out of courtesy to her, please do not wait until the last minute to do this. Her address is 265 N 1070 E.

If for some reason you cannot provide material for this project, please contact a member of the Relief Society Presidency and they will provide some for you. We would love for everyone to participate. This is a great way to learn those basic sewing skills!!!

If you haven't signed up to be a fan on Facebook, please do so by clicking on the link on the right hand side of this blog (you have to scroll down quite a bit). This helps us to get more reminders to you!
